Online destination for designer dress rental GlamCorner has achieved B Corp certification.
The certification highlights sees the brand join an emerging group of companies that are using the power of business to create a positive impact in the world and generate a shared and durable prosperity.
To achieve the ranking, GlamCorner was required to adhere to rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
By receiving this certification the company joins other key, sustainability focused, brands such as Patagonia.
In February of 2016, GlamCorner offered 800 dresses from 60 designers, numbers that have grown in just under 2 years to more than 5000 dresses from over 200 high-end local and international designer labels.
In the same period, the company had loaned out approximately $6 million worth of fashion since launching in 2012 (total sum of the retail value of the dresses loaned out). In 2017 alone, GlamCorner loaned out the retail equivalent of $30million.
The rental model has also proven to be far more environmentally sustainable choice for consumers, with a 95% reduction in the manufacturing and supply chain footprint.
