Australian sleepwear label Papinelle has witnessed a strong increase in online sales following the social distancing and work from home directives from the government.

The brand has seen a 225% lift in online sales compared to the same time last year.

Helping to drive these sales is the brand's social media, with 30% of sales coming through these channels.

Best-selling items include the Grey Waffle Lounge pant and tee and the Feather Soft loungewear, both styles of which sold out within two to three weeks.

Robes and slippers have also been popular for the brand.

Papinelle CEO and founder Renae James said that the brand is busy working to restock popular styles.

"We were quite surprised and had not seen this coming - it was completely unexpected!

"We were expecting a drop off in sales however with the increase in people working from home we have seen an unexpected growth.

"Some of our styles have sold out and we are currently in the process of getting them restocked to be able to satisfy the demand," she said.
