Sisters Alejandra, Camila and Sofia Malo have launched Las Malo, a Columbian leather brand that is tailored to each individual.
The focus of the label is to bring the design of handcrafted, Columbian leather pieces to the Australian market.
Each jacket goes through the hands of the three Las Malo sisters, with the leather carefully chosen from the leather merchant, then tailor, to be hand sewed based on the measurement of the client.
Las Malo will also source materials exclusively from family-owned businesses.
“The pieces normally take about two weeks from the time we have the measurements of the client. We then source the leather, tailor the piece and put it through quality assurance before shipping.” said marketing manager Alejandra Malo.
The first collection will launch at an exclusive showing on the Gold Coast and will feature six jacket designs, three in leather and three in suede, with plans for skirts and bags already underway.
Jackets retail for $360 and are available in sizes of 6, 8 and 10 outside of the tailoring option.
