New Zealand label Rodd & Gunn is set to open a new global flagship, Rodd & Gunn x The Lodge Bar & Dining on James Street in Brisbane.

The flagship store will blend retail and hospitality and will offer customers multiple spaces for dining, shopping and entertainment.

The Brisbane flagship is the fourth venture for Rodd & Gunn of this kind, following locations in Queenstown, Auckland and Myer Chadstone.

The new 749sqm store will be house in a heritage-listed building and will showcase Rodd & Gunn's seasonal fashion collection alongside an elevated dining experience.

"James Street is the lifestyle hub of Brisbane and a major drawcard for local, interstate and international tourism," Rodd & Gunn executive GM of hospitality Josh Beagley said.

"Given the strength of the local area, it provides the best platform for us to showcase our concept and we have been lucky enough to secure one of the preeminent sites on the street.

"Our dedication and commitment to excellence, putting our guests first and aiming to exceed their expectations is at the forefront of what we do," he said.

Inside, the flagship will offer customers a downstairs corner bar with banquette seating, a dining room and a passage to the retail space.

Level one will be home to a contemporary bar, private dining room and a wraparound balcony that showcases panoramic views of the James Street strip, with capacity to seat 150 guests.

The interior of the build reflects Rodd & Gunn’s heritage and features American oak wood flooring, wool rugs, tan leather, and brass accents throughout.

When it comes to the dining experience, The Lodge Bar & Dining, James St menu has been created by chef Matt Lambert and will be brought to life by head chef, James Evangelinos.

Master sommelier and The Lodge Bar’s head of beverages, Cameron Douglas, will craft a wine list that features multi-award-winning New Zealand wines, alongside others from Australia and around the world.

Rodd & Gunn CEO Mike Beagley added that the brand is ready to open further concept stores across the world.

"We have moved away from opening a ton of stores and to focusing on a ‘less is more approach’.

"Bigger, bolder, multi-faceted footprints that are focused on building unique brand experiences that deliver an immersive way of engaging with our brand.

"The future of Rodd & Gunn is incredible, we have a large pipeline of projects that will keep us very busy for years to come.

"Our plan is to open these integrated hospitality and retail concepts in major markets in every country we operate in.

"We are currently in negotiation on some incredible sites in Canada, USA and UK," he said.

The Rodd & Gunn x Lodge Bar & Dining, James St flagship store will open on May 19 2022.
