Princess Polly has taken a stand on abortion rights in an email sent to employees.

Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court took the dramatic step of overturning the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that recognised a woman's constitutional right to an abortion and legalised it nationwide.

In a company-wide email, Princess Polly global director of team experience Christian Pleasant confirmed the ruling was not in line with its values.

"As a company, we strongly disagree and are disappointed with the US Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade. We support a woman’s right to choose and access an abortion," the email stated.

"Princess Polly will always champion women and defend their rights.

"We will offer support to our employees who seek an abortion. We are reviewing our Pathway to Parenthood program to include covering costs such as travel expenses, time off and support services during a difficult and personal time.

"Your overall health, both mental and physical, is always important. Please know we have support resources available to you through our Employee Assistance Program."

Princess Polly began life as a bricks and mortar retailer in 2005 on the Gold Coast, founded by Wez and Eirin Bryett.

The business launched online in 2010 and according to Forbes, is the number six favourite shopping website for America's upper-income teens.

A.K.A Brands - backed by private equity business Summit Partners - acquired Australian brands Princess Polly in 2018, Petal & Pup in 2019 and Culture Kings in March 2021.
