Melbourne Central Shopping Centre, in partnership with Levi's, is set to celebrate Mardi Gras with a pop-up Pride Phone Booth.

The art installation invites visitors to record messages of support, love and encouragement for the LGBTQI+ community.

The recorded voicemails will be added to Levi's Australia's Pride 2020 playlist on SoundCloud, creating a place where people can remind themselves of how much they are loved, valued and supported.

The Pride Phone Booth builds on Levi's 'Use Your Voice' campaign which encourages self-expression, openness and transparency to help change the world.

Melbourne Central centre manager Ryan Ling said that the business is thrilled to bring the Pride Phone Booth to life.

"Melbourne Central continues to champion equality, inclusivity and progress.

"We are thrilled to layer in art installations which not only support our LGBTIQ+ community, but also provide a platform for others to share their messages of support," he said.

The Pride Phone Booth will be open from February 20 to March 01 and will be located on level two at Melbourne Central.
