Pacific Runway, Australia’s platform for Pacific Island designers, is now a part of the official program for 2017 at Carriageworks in Sydney.

Following the sold out 2016 event, 21 top designers from around the US, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, and Australia will present their collections at Carriageworks as part of this year's event.

Pacific Runway organiser and founder Jannike Seiuli said that this showing proved that the Australian fashion industry was ready to interact and wear more fashion labels of Pacific origin.

Seiuli also said that the support of Carriageworks, the home of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, highlighted that there was room for these designers, and their work, to be recognised on the global stage.

“It’s about showing a different side to the Pacific, using a high profile to draw attention to what Pacific people are capable of doing.

“Pacific designers have world class skills and creativity and Pacific Runway gives them an opportunity to show this.”

Pacific Runway 2017 will be held at Carriageworks in Sydney on October 27.
