A major online outlet has concluded a promotion which saw a whopping 44 per cent of sales come from the fashion category.
To celebrate its first birthday, GraysOutlet.com listed 2000 items on its site for just $1 each last Friday evening.
The products included branded clothing, homewares, fashion accessories and cosmetics with a total retail price of $155,000.
Fashion dominated sales, accounting for 44 per cent of transactions.
Fashion also accounted for the top three sales items; a Driza-Bone Springfield strip shirt, an Osh Kosh B'gosh girl's heart button-up romper and, a Living Doll basic combat dress.
The promotion resulted in over 70,000 unique visitors in 24 hours, compared to an average of 10,000 per day.
It also saw more than four new transactions every minute, totalling nearly 6000 new customers.
Some 5722 items were ordered by customers during the sales period, with 1863 sent out the next business day.
GraysOnline.com receives 1.2 million unique visitors per month and also received a 13 per cent increase in traffic and a 48 per cent increase in registrations over the same period.
GraysOutlet is Australia's first privately owned online outlet, with over 31,000 products available at up to 80 per cent off retail prices.
