Will you benefit from this partnership? It could save Australian shoppers $5.3 million.

American Express has joined forced with some of Australia's biggest retailers to launch Amex Offers.

The scheme will allow card members to access a range of offers selected and ranked based on individual relevance.

Members will be able to claim offers online with no need for codes or coupons and savings to be made at retailers such as David Jones, Country Road, Harvey Norman, Liquorland and 7-Eleven.

American Express vice president consumer acquisition and loyalty Dean Chadwick believes the partnership is catered to the spending habits of Australian consumers.

“American Express is the only credit card provider to give customers the ability to save offers directly to their card.

“We know Australians are value-driven spenders, motivated by in-store discounts, offers and deals, so we have partnered with some of Australia’s most popular brands and launched Amex Offers, making it easy for us to reward Card Members in a seamless way when spending at their favourite stores.”

Chadwick also believes that targeted offers will mean that members will get more bang for their buck.

“We are able to tailor each offer depending on the retailer’s business objective, such as increasing repeat spending or growing average basket size.

“Using algorithm-based scoring, offers are targeted to customers through relevant channels, and we also provide full campaign analytics allowing retailers to review results.

“Given that each offer is based on a pay-on-performance structure, retailers have full control.”
