Vicinity Centres has welcomed DFO Uni Hill to its portfolio, following a December 2019 acquisition.

The established centre was previously trading as Uni Hill Factory Outlets under MAB Corporation, but has been officially rebranded after Vicinity's acquisition of a 50% interest in the centre in December 2019.

Located in the Melbourne suburb of Bundoora, DFO Uni Hill joins the business' six other DFOs across the country and is the fourth DFO in Melbourne.

Vicinity Centres DFO regional GM Daniel Sutton said that the business is thrilled to welcome the centre ahead of the Christmas trade.

"It’s an ideal time to welcome DFO Uni Hill, as a new addition to Vicinity’s successful DFO portfolio, ahead of Black Friday and pre-Christmas trade.

"We’ve got a clear DFO strategy that differentiates our outlet centres and we’re pleased to have further grown our DFO brand which we know resonates with our customers as an affordable, designer and brand shopping destination," he said.

Sutton added that since COVID-19 restrictions have eased, traffic has picked up in the centre.

"Since the reopening of metropolitan Melbourne, customer traffic at DFO Uni Hill has grown significantly, up 27% compared to last year and we expect strong visitation over the coming weeks with savvy Melburnians on the hunt for Black Friday bargains and to stretch their wallets further this Christmas," he said.

Major drawcards to the centre include its sports and leisure offering which features more than 15 retailers including Nike, Adidas, Puma and Asics, as well as the addition of luxury brands including Polo Ralph Lauren.

The centre also offers contactless Parcel Concierge as well as queue skipping and virtual queuing technology.

DFO Uni Hill joins other Melbourne DFO locations at South Wharf, Essendon and Moorabbin.
