Luxury womenswear label Mrs Press is set to bow out of the retail scene, as its founder focuses on a new publishing venture and notes the slump in traditional retail.
Designer Clare Press began her publishing career at Vogue Australia and is the author of The Dressing Table.
Press, who launched her label in 2007, will close the doors on her Mrs Press flagship Paddington boutique to focus on a novel.
Mrs Press will still be available online, with bridesmaids dresses to be offered through a studio space.
Mrs Press launched as a collection of reworked vintage pieces, with a ready-to-wear range released soon after.
The brand opened its Sydney flagship in 2010.
Press will reveal the challenging retail scene for young designers in the October edition of Ragtrader.
Designer Marnie Skillings also bowed out of the market this year to focus on a new trend forecasting service.
