Australian designer Marlo Grover has launched a new sustainable brand, Marlo by Marlo.

Marlo by Marlo started on the floor of Grover’s Sydney apartment.

The debut collection - Release 1 showcases sustainable made-to-order suiting and timeless linen ready-to-wear pieces.

Price points start at $95 for a linen front top to $410 for the signature Marlo jacket.

Every single garment is designed, cut and handcrafted in Sydney, Australia.

All suiting is made-to-order minimising wastage, reducing landfill and promoting conscious consumption.

All ready-to-wear garments are made using linen, a natural fibre that breaks down at the end of its life and produced in limited sizes.

Grover said the brand is a long-term venture, backed by consumer demand.

“Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword it is the new normal.”

All products are delivered in completely compostable, recyclable and acid free packaging and their transportation is 100% carbon neutral.

Six months ago Grover started hand making her own outfits and promoted her designs through Instagram.

As demand grew for her garments, she quit her senior digital role and pursued the venture in November 2018.

Grover is self-taught and manages the development of each garment from design to production herself.

She said popular styles included: ‘Not Another White Shirt’ a classic white organic cotton blouse and the ‘Cuffed Linen Tea Dress’.

“I design pieces that I want in my own wardrobe that I can wear throughout seasons and trends. I design for women that are on their true path, they take the road less travelled and these clothes are designed to empower them on their way to greatness."
