Australian womenswear designer Toni Maticevski has put a brand on blast.

Maticevski has accused middle market label Acler of copying his designs.

In a series of Instagram stories, Maticevski took aim at a tailored, ox blood coloured dress from its latest collection.

"Dear Acler," he opened. "F**k off already.

"Employ your own designers and stop copying me with your cheap shit versions."

Acler GM Julia Sumner said she was disappointed by the posts.

"We are very disappointed in the activity on social media over the weekend.

"Acler is a proud Australian business that has grown nationally and internationally over the last five years off the back of an incredibly hard-working and talented design team, with extensive experience in the fashion industry.

"Each piece in the Acler Collection is uniquely and meticulously designed with multiple fittings and draping throughout the design and manufacture process – with our pieces taking their final shape throughout a lengthy design process.

"We are proud supporters of an inclusive Australian Fashion Industry and will continue to work hard to bring our unique, affordable pieces to market both here in Australia and around the world."

Maticevski is an acclaimed designer stocked on Selfridges, Net-A-Porter and Moda Operandi.

Australian-based Acler is also stocked on Moda Operandi, Myer and Shopbop.
