Outdoor adventure specialty retailer Macpac has announced the opening of nine new large format retail adventure hubs around Australia.

Five of the new hubs are located in Victoria and one each in New South Wales, ACT, South Australia and Queensland.

This brings the outdoor brand's total store footprint to 34 in Australia.

The hubs expand on the classic Macpac stores that primarily offer the full range of Macpac’s technical outdoor apparel, equipment and accessories.

In addition to this, the hubs will also offer a selection of apparel, equipment and accessories from brands such as Patagonia, Yeti and Merrell.

Services offered will also include pack fitting huts, where team members will professionally fit customers' backpacks; world maps; access to packing lists, and; chill out zones, where customers can receive advice and prepare for their next adventure with a mini library filled with books to inspire their next trip.

Macpac CEO Alex Brandon said that the brand was setting out to become a premium destination for outdoor products.

“We’re really excited about the Macpac adventure hubs.

"We set out to create Australia’s premium destination for outdoor product and adventure advice, and I think we’ve achieved that aim in these first nine stores.

"The adventure hubs offer the full range of Macpac gear alongside other world-class outdoor brands such as Patagonia, Columbia and Mammut, supported by a friendly, knowledgeable team ready to give everyone adventure advice.”

The launch was celebrated with in-store activations for customers including prize giveaways by local radio station Hit,  complimentary coffee, plus exclusive launch deals.
