Ksubi founder George Gorrow has launched a new label and arts platform Cocurata, with the first range set for release next month.

Conceived and founded in New York City, Cocurata is an exhibition space, atelier and fashion house.

It exists as a fashion label and art platform designed to showcase and exhibit artists.

The venture is being spearheaded by Gorrow and New York curator and gallerist George Benias.

Cocurata will launch with a range of artists including Bäst and Paul Insect; painter, calligrapher and filmmaker, Rostarr; artist collective, Dearraindrop; and contemporary artists Trudy Benson, Steve More and Matt Jones.

Cocurata will launch its inaugural Spring/Summer collection, EXTRACTION, in February, 2015.

Featuring pieces from Bäst, Paul Insect and Rostarr, the collection blends elements from each artwork into a range of street and denim classics for men and women.

Cocurata claims to be a reaction to brands collaborating on collections with artists in a "tokenistic fashion".

Gorrow and Benias envisage a direct exchange between artist and artisan – a street artist working with a jeweler, a sculptor collaborating with a perfumer or a painter creating bespoke, ready to wear pieces – to craeate pieces that can stand alone in a gallery and boutique.
