Kmart has launched its latest spring apparel range, with a focus on breathable sustainable fabrics.

The collection features relaxed and oversized silhouettes in linen and natural fabrications such as cotton.

The choice of fabrics for the spring collection further demonstrates Kmart's shift in its apparel offering, aiming to give customers more eco-friendly choices, as first seen in its recycled activewear launch.

Kmart GM of apparel and design Julie Miller Sensini said that the business is sourcing its cotton from sustainable resources.

"We’ve partnered with the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) to make cotton production better for the environment it grows in, and better for the people who produce it, both here and abroad.

"We’re also growing our organic cotton offering which provides our customers with assurance that the cotton has been grown without use of harmful chemicals, whilst keeping our incredibly low prices," she said.

Across the last five years, Kmart has also been working on its involvement in the Action, Collaboration, Transformation (ACT) initiative.

ACT is a collaboration initiative with other global retailers, brands, workers and unions to implement a sustainable solution to achieving a living wage for garment and textile workers.

As part of this commitment, Kmart is implementing ACT Global Purchasing Practices Standards across its global supply chain.

Meanwhile, to celebrate the launch of the spring collection, Kmart will launch its second virtual Masterclass in partnership with Melbourne-based fashion and style expert, Victoria Latu.

Latu will lead the first two episodes of the Masterclass, covering topics such as 'How to find your Style and Confidence'
and 'Versatile Styling'.

Episode three will be hosted by fashion stylist and colour consultant, Cindy Newstead.

Newstead will teach viewers how to style with colour and will provide her top tips on how to identify which colours work best with different skin tones.

Alongside the two expert stylists, the Masterclass series will also feature Kmart team members and the Kmart community that will share behind-the-scenes insights into the range’s design inspiration and product journey, alongside further style advice.

Kmart's spring range is available in store and online now and spans women's, men's and kids' styles.
