Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has teamed up with Seoul National University to offer fashion students a two-year cross cultural exchange program.

The 'Emerging Designer Exchange Program' will be open to three budding Australian and Korean designers respectively.

The Australian students will spend one week in Seoul, while the Korean students will spend one week in Brisbane and Sydney where they willl attend trade events, visit the local industry, attend workshops and undergo mentoring.

The designers will also attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA).

The program has been sparked by an alliance between the Australian Fashion Chamber (AFC) and The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT).

The 'Emerging Designer Exchange Program' will run from January 2017 to December 2018.

QUT is now calling for fashion design students to submit their work for selection.

Entries close on October 14.
