Textiles, Clothing and Footwear Australia is set to be an official supporter of Eco Fashion Week (EFWA).
The industry organisation has endorsed the first ever sustainable designer runway show in Western Australia.
EFWA will run from November 23 to 27 in Fremantle, showcasing only sustainable, ethical and locally produced fashion from international and national designers.
EFWA 2017 founder Zuhal Kuvan-Mills said the event aims to raise awareness for environmentally conscious fashion.
“Our goal is to ignite, inspire and challenge all perspectives in fashion, and we will present only the most creative, artistic and beautifully sustainable designs from Australia and around the world.
“Raising awareness about sustainable fashion is crucial, considering that the fashion industry is one of the largest polluters worldwide, not to mention one of the least ethical.
“I’m truly thrilled by all of the support we have received for our upcoming event."
The event will feature discussions, exhibitions, hands-on workshops and runway shows.
