Strand Arcade is capitalising on its reputation as an artisan hub with a three-part video series.

The series features interviews with Edwina Robinson of Aje, Alexandra and Genevieve Smart of Ginger & Smart and Cheryl Manning of Manning Cartell.

Viewers are taken on a visual journey behind the scenes of the designers, detailing inspiration and processes for their spring/summer 2017 collections.

Edwina Robinson, Aje

"Our spring/summer '17 Benevolent collection is inspired by Bernado Bertolluci's film, Stealing Beauty, which follows Liv Tyler’s character throughout her journey into womanhood.”

Genevieve and Alexandra Smart, Ginger & Smart

"Our spring/summer 2017 collection, Muse, is inspired by the muses of the Pre-Raphaelite sisterhood. These women were a force of creativity and powerful in changing the mould of conventional beauty in their time."

Cheryl Manning, Manning Cartell

"This season, the Manning Cartell woman punctuates her signature feminine looks with oversized tailoring and crisp nautical detailing. Neptune’s Wooden Angels was inspired by the ornate design of the 17th Rococo century period and exploration, with historical references from that period. This can be seen in the nautical details of knot and ties, sailor stripes, ornate details and embellishments, voluminous sleeves and gold buttons and pinning.”

In addition to the series, Strand Arcade will release a photo-essay series of detailed inspiration; including images accompanied by quotes from its designer brand stable.

These include Dion Lee, Camilla & Marc, Scanlan Theodore, Lover and Jac + Jack, Aje, Manning Cartell and Ginger & Smart.
