Iconic Australian designers George Gross and Harry Who are back in the spotlight.
Threads - The Untold Story of Fashion House George Gross and Harry Who has been released.
The biography was written by author and journalist Rose Fydler, after more than 50 interviews with Gross and the key people in his life.
It recounts his childhood as a Hungarian Holocaust survivor, his family's flight to Australia, his chance meeting with Harry Who and the success of their joint womenswear label.
It also follows their enduring love affair, which has not been addressed previously in detail.
"George felt punched in the stomach, deprived of oxygen and would later recall the sensation as an out-of-body-experience. Love at first sight," Fydler writes.
The book contains celebrity and industry gossip, as well as sketches and photographs from Gross' personal collection.
The book is available online from Leander Publishing.
