A new online player, the first of its kind in the world, is set to transform the local shopping landscape yet again.

The shopping site, wantitnow.com.au, is powered by national transport and courier Mail Call and is the brainchild of Mail Call managing directors Fiona Pearse and Emma Cronin.

Officially launched this week, and already supported by over 60 retailers to date, the site is designed to “transform the way Australians shop online”, by allowing retailers to offer their customers express three-hour and same day delivery options.

Retailers, including those already on board – such as The Iconic, StyleTread, Sambag, Sneaking Duck, Diva, Bras n Things,Birkenstock and Glassons – can access the service through a variety of easy-to-install plugins which allow immediate installation of WantItNow’s express delivery options for online customers.

Once installed, customers who require fast delivery can go straight to the WantItNow site and then simply click through to the retailer sites.

Full API integration removes the need for manual courier booking by retailers, while providing job tracking and delivery confirmation, which saves man hours, and removes data entry problems and other human errors. Customers and retailers can also track the package via the WantItNow iPhone and smartphone tracking apps.

Commenting on the birth of the shopping portal, co-founder Pearse said the site has already garnered a positive response, and further expansion is on the cards.

“We work in close collaboration with Australia’s leading online retailers, tailoring flexible delivery options to improve their delivery efficiency and the shopping experience for their online customers,” she said.

“This includes testing hardware, implementing new software roll outs, and building custom-made portals and websites all with logistics and delivery efficiency in mind. We’ve had an overwhelming response from the retail industry and we have big plans for the next few years.”
