This Australian invention is responsible for luring $10 million sales into retail coffers - and counting.

Social shopping community Bluesky has relaunched its catalogue app, a year after launch.

Founded by David Mah and Nigel Ang in 2013, Bluesky currently hosts over 500 brands and has a following of over 210,000 shoppers.

The upgraded Bluesky app now includes new social features for users.

Users can create their own profile and select their favourite brands to follow, tailoring their newsfeed to update regularly with the latest products from favourite labels.

Users can also find and follow their friends on Bluesky, sharing wish list items.

Since its launch, $10 million of retail sales have been attributed to Bluesky.

Of the 1.2 million apps on the Australian iTunes Store, Bluesky achieved an overall rank of 13 in December 2013.

The service is backed by group of local angel investors which have contributed a total of $1.3 million into its development.

Mah said more than 20 million catalogue pages had been read since Bluesky's release in May 2013.

Bluesky features both international brands and Australian labels, as well as edits from Aussie bloggers.

Since launch, the Bluesky app user base has achieved 2300 per cent growth, from 10,000 shoppers to 230,000 shoppers.

The app is projected to reach one million users by the end-of-year holiday season of 2014.
