Australian-owned jewellery retailer Secrets Shhh has opened its fourth Brisbane store at Westfield North Lakes.
Secrets managing director Mike Parsell, former Michael Hill CEO, also has his sights set on opening another four new Australian stores by December, which would take the national tally to 17 stores plus an e-commerce portal.
Last year Secrets acquired four new stores at Mackay (north Queensland), Carindale (Brisbane) and Green Hills (Maitland, NSW) and Knox City (Melbourne).
Parsell became the company’s majority shareholder in March 2017.
During his 16-year tenure as CEO of Michael Hill, Parsell expanded the number of stores to 300 across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA.
Secrets Shhh North Lakes will expressly target young families and multi-generational families living in the local area.
Parsell said Secrets was likely to appeal to this customer base, which typically has disposable income to spend on recreation, family activities and “feel good” purchases.
Parsell said expansion in to new territories also meant new employment opportunities with an exciting, visionary brand with global reach.
“We’re on the look-out for the next generation of Secrets star,” Parsell said.
