Ex-Calvin Klein design director Rob Rigutto has launched a new premium streetwear brand, Level.

The venture is a joint partnership with retail executive Martin Jamoa, who has worked with Marcs and Saba, as well as beauty expert Chris Coonrod.

Launching globally in April 2018, the brand is pitched in support of gender equality.

“We created Level to be different from the homogenised and androgenised unisex garments typical in the industry today," Rigutto said.

"It’s a confident statement where gender equality is about being equal, not the same, so we celebrate sexuality without neutralising it. Fashion is a label, gender should never be."

Rigutto said he spent two years developing and conceptualising the collection, sourcing four-way stretch fabrics to create cross-gender cuts and accommodate the brand's heavy zip detailing.

The launch collection includes a limited-edition line of sweats, hoodies, leggings and tees available exclusively at www.levelclothing.net.

Prices include $89 for a longline print tee, $149 for a grey jogger and $199 for a panel sweat.
