The Strand Arcade attracted 2000 customers to its latest activation celebrating designers and artisans.

Evening With Our Designers brought together some of Australia’s biggest names in fashion including Alex Perry, Lover, Lisa Ho, Manning Cartell, Leona Edmiston, Dinosaur Designs, Romance Was Born, Gary Bigeni and Ellery.
The night’s activity was set against an opulent backdrop inspired by colonial India, mirroring The Strand Arcade’s spring/summer 2013 campaign shot in Jaipur.
Vivid garlands of flowers adorned the arcade, uniform-clad attendants welcomed customers and spicy nuts were served out of big copper bowls on authentic street carts.
Guests were also treated to champagne and exclusive in-store offers.
Singer Clare Bowditch performed at the event, while models appeared in clusters showcasing the The Strand Arcade’s upcoming season trends.
Artisans of Fashion was also promoted throughout the night, a charitable initiative that builds long term and sustainable growth opportunities for craft communities in India with the support of leading Australian designers.
As part of the event, Strand Arcade also launched a photographic exhibition that documents the journey behind the Artisans of Fashion.
Running until October 28, the exhibition includes the work of Australian fashion photographers Robyn Beeche, Georges Antoni and James Pipino, along with filmmaker Lorin Askil.
