Look.Stop.Shop 2012, the joint shopping initiative developed by the City of Melbourne and the Victorian State Government, will come to a close this week.

The innovative concept, supported by the Melbourne Retail Advisory Board, was created through a recommendation from the Melbourne Retail Strategy 2006:2012.

The free event, which officially launched on July 18, will run until July 29 and sees a raft of fashion retailers showcasing product via design installations and artworks in and around their stores.

Under the theme of ‘Hidden Gems and Rough Diamonds’ the installations can be found vertical, underground, arcade and laneway retail stores around the city.

The aim of the event is to celebrate in store retail experiences and educate, inspire and entertain city visitors and shoppers, driving them to explore and transact through the city's retail precincts - look, stop, connect and shop.

Previously, Look.Stop.Shop has also been a key event of State of Design festival in 2010 and 2011, and Melbourne Spring Fashion Week in 2011.
