Designer glasses eCommerce platform VisionDirect.com.au is set to open a flagship store.

Opening on May 1, the 90-square metre space will be housed in Bourke Street, Melbourne.

This year will mark the brand's 10th anniversary, co-founder David Menning said.

“The Vision Direct Optical Centre is a first of its kind for physical brand experience, which builds on Vision Direct’s heritage of 10 years of retail and consumer experience innovation in designer eyewear.

"The world-first centre will not only offer visual and interactive displays to deliver a more holistic, seamless and stress-free shopping experience but also offer the best professional optometry advice, latest products, style trends and innovation."

The site will operate as a one-stop-showroom and offer eye testing by qualified opticians, as well as a range of designer brands.

Vision Direct has partnered with Chester Eyewear for the launch of the flagship store; an Australian family-run eye frames business.

Co-founders Jessica and Sam Chester have been recognised for working closely with their local communities Hawthorn East, Glen Iris and Balaclava offering complementary eye test and frame and lens prescription if required.

“Chester Eyewear share key values with Vision Direct when it comes to community support and expanding into online and offline channels, this was a perfect match,” Menning said.

“We’re excited to partner with a local business who share the same vision in terms of business growth and transition.”

VisionDirect.com.au is an Australian founded company established in 2008.
