Peloton Australia has expanded into bricks-and-mortar retail in Australia, following the launch of its private-label apparel in the market.

Aligning with retail reopening in NSW, the business will open its first standalone showroom at Westfield Bondi Junction tomorrow, October 13 and has also signed a deal with David Jones, opening a showroom space in the Elizabeth St store.

The brand will open further David Jones showrooms in Bourke Street and Chadstone Melbourne stores as COVID restrictions ease.

The expansion into bricks-and-mortar comes after the Peloton apparel launched locally in September, and comes approximately three months after the brand launched its connected fitness platform in Australia in July.

Peloton Australia country manager Karen Lawson welcomed the partnership with David Jones.

"Our partnership with David Jones – an Australian retail institution – illustrates our steadfast commitment to Australia.

"We are excited to offer Aussies, who lead the world in the uptake of fitness and technology innovation, this retail experience, and the new installations are a great way to learn more about the brand and a completely new way to work out," she said.

David Jones GM of menswear, childrenswear and home Chris Wilson added that the retailer is thrilled to offer the exclusive experience to its customers.

"David Jones is thrilled to be welcoming the hugely popular Peloton brand to our lifestyle offering.

"By setting up installations in three of our flagship stores with dedicated experts to provide advice, we have been able to create an engaging experience for our customers enabling them to immerse themselves into the first-class Peloton brand experience.

"We are excited to have our Sydney customers try out this interactive experience, exclusive to David Jones, and we look forward to welcoming our Melbourne customers back in store to enjoy the offering when Victoria opens up soon as well.

"Following the recent uptake in at-home fitness and self-care we know this is something our customers are going to be excited about," he said.

Peloton Australia will also open a second standalone showroom in Sydney's Martin Place in the coming weeks.

Both the standalone stores will offer virtual appointments to virtually walk customers through the business' fitness offering.
