David Jones has added over 25 international and Australian brands to its designer portfolio this season.

Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Halston and Khaite are among the new additions as well as upcoming Melbourne brand Clea.

David Jones GM womenswear, footwear and accessories Bridget Veals said the additions come as customer purchasing habits evolve this year.

"Following the pandemic, it’s fantastic to see customers re-energising their wardrobes and embracing colour this autumn/winter season with printed sets, hyper bright shirts and dresses in bold colour ways being some of our best-selling styles.

"With the shift to hybrid working patterns and the adoption of business casual lifestyles, smart dressing has been a big trend with classic loose trench coats, girlfriend jeans, knitted sets and long line blazers being very popular amongst our customers."

Camilla and Marc, Rebecca Vallance, AJE and Anna Quan have performed well for business-casual and relaxed suiting wear.

Meanwhile in footwear, Veals said a return to occasion dressing has seen strong statement shoe sales across Manolo Blahnik, Mach & Mach and The Attico.

David Jones will also open a dedicated sneaker concept as part of its redevelopment in Bourke Street, Melbourne.

"Here, customers will find a curated selection of sneakers from brands such as VEJA, Common Projects, Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen," Veals confirmed.

"With customers embracing hybrid dressing, sneakers are the perfect shoe to look effortlessly chic whilst still comfortable and we have worked to champion this trend by making the new sneaker concept a hero of the third floor."

The redeveloped site will feature a number of upgrades to key categories.

"As the reimagination of Bourke Street continues throughout the year, we will see various immersive spaces and services enhance the instore experience for a new generation of David Jones customers across the home, food and menswear categories," Veals said.

"We also know our customers really value the experiences and services David Jones offer, so we are delighted to open our modern Bourke Street service suites for customers to enjoy both beauty treatments and luxury personal shopping sessions.

"Our brand new centralised fitting rooms and point of sale destination will also elevate the customer shopping experience at this store, particularly with its convenient location in the centre of the floor."
