Désordre boutique is set to expanded its bricks-and-mortar presence, readying to open its first store in Melbourne.

The luxury boutique will open doors in Armadale, at the famed Kooyong Road and High Street intersection, and will join the brand's other stores in Darlinghurst and Bondi Beach, the latter of which opened in September 2020.

With a focus on luxury fashion, Désordre stocks internationally renowned labels such as Alex Perry, Area NYC, Christopher Esber, Dion Lee, Aya Muse, Michael Lo Sordo, Nagnata, Khaite, Petar Petrov and more.

The brand prides itself on exclusive collections, with the business one of the first to stock brands such as Area NYC, Aya Muse, LaQuan Smith, Monot, Nué, Paris Georgia, Roberta Einer in Australia.

"I love discovering and supporting emerging designers worldwide," founder Shannon Thomas said.

"I’ve found the reward outweighs the risk.

"I am the Désordre girl, when I trust my instinct and passions, this is where I have found the most success," she said.

Once open, the new Melbourne boutique could become a hot spot for celebrities, with Désordre's Darlinghurst store having previously hosted Rita Ora on a number of occasions.

And while the challenges of COVID may have disrupted the store opening, the business was able to focus its efforts in other areas to drive sales and engagement, Thomas said.

"Instagram has really been a driving force in not only curating the image of my brand, but also in driving awareness globally for the business.

"During COVID last year, we invested more time and energy into creating beautiful and aspirational looking imagery for our social media platforms and our website.

"We saw a direct response from this, with sales of gowns, formal wear and top tier luxury brands still selling, even in the height of the pandemic.

"Not only did our loyal Australian customers keep shopping, but we significantly grew our international customer base, all organically.

"With our customers not being able to travel last year, they had more time and higher disposable income to shop, providing much needed escapism at times," she said.
