Australian womenswear label CS Edit has enlisted social media star Sahara Ray to feature in its upcoming AW16 campaign.

CS Edit head designer Cyia Levadetes flew to the US to shoot Ray in downtown LA during New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

The label's general manager Angela Backshell said that poaching Ray will aim to boost the brand's profile in the domestic and global market.

“We wanted to celebrate the launch of this exciting AW16 collection by featuring one
of LA’s most influential ‘it’ girls.

“Sahara brought the element of laidback rock to the 70s glam yet ethereal designs.”

Levadetes said that she is thrilled with the campaign and believes it will bring the collection to life.

“When shooting the range I wanted to reflect the aesthetic which had driven my
inspiration, shooting downtown LA really added a story to each frame, I wanted to
communicate the laidback rock chick whom I kept in mind during the design process.”

“I was excited to recreate a vision that had originally inspired many of my designs.”

The AW16 collection will showcase a range of styles including vintage floral prints, gold metallic fringing, stripe denim and faux furs in terracotta, charcoal, white, indigo denims and gold.

The collection is set to land in Glue and Topshop stores across Australia in March next year.

CS Edit's SS15 will drop into stores on October 15.
