Country Road has partnered with a global e-commerce powerhouse to drive online sales, with Witchery and Mimco potentially set to follow.

Country Road has signed with fashion search engine ShopStyle, a San Francisco-based firm with offices across the world.

Speaking exclusively to ragtrader.com.au, ShopStyle Australia country manager Laura Yeomans said the alliance was cemented this month.

Country Road will represent the largest Australian brand on ShopStyle, with all 1000 items from the new Country Road site to be listed on the platform.

Trenery is expected to launch shortly.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to announce our latest partnership with Country Road, one of Australia’s greatest and most iconic fashion brands,” Yeomans said.

“ShopStyle.com.au launched in May 2011 with the intended purpose of offering Australian consumers the best fashion from around the world.

"By partnering with Country Road we are getting closer to achieving this goal as they will be joining other great retail brands such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s Bloomingdales as well as UK online retailers Asos and Net-a-Porter.

"Now Australian men and women can shop their favourite brands from one stylish and easy to use platform.”

As reported previously on ragtrader.com.au, Country Road also announced its intention to acquire the Witchery Group and its brands from private equity firm Gresham.

Yeomans said this means ShopStyle may “soon [also] have all of the Country Road brands including their newly acquired Witchery and Mimco”.

In addition, the tie-up with ShopStyle will also mark the first time Country Road has taken on an affiliate marketing partner.

“We are even happier to know that we are their first affiliate partner, something we can offer our network including FabSugar.com.au, Daily Life and TheVine,” Yeomans said.

“Affiliate marketing is still very new in Australia in comparison to the UK and US but this shows a change in the times as Australian retailers are beginning to embrace additional marketing channels."
