Raffles College of Design and Commerce has capped off a showcase at China Graduate Fashion Week in Beijing.

The event, staged from May 15 to 20, spotlights young design talent in the Asia-Pacific region.

Parramatta-based Raffles College of Design and Commerce is the first official international university partner of the event.

It has been part of the annual showcase since last year.

Raffles Sydney CEO Isaac Ng said designers presented their spring/summer 2016 collections in a group show.

“Raffles is honoured to be the only Australian college to secure a placement within this prestigious event.

“We were thrilled to see our graduates showcased alongside emerging design stars from Chinese fashion colleges.”

Twelve promising graduates from the Raffles Sydney campus took part in a runway show on May 18.

The Raffles designers showing at China Graduate Fashion Week included:

- Asanovski by Fatima Eunji Asanovski and Azize Eunmi Asanovski

- Ashleigh Kwong (Self-titled)

- Leah Williams (Self-titled)

- Queency Yustiawan (Self-titled)

- DE LA MOTTE by Anne de la Motte

- Brianna Sandles (Self-titled)

- Amelia Sindartha (Self-titled)

- Talia Shepherd (Self-titled)

- 580 by Matiny Ng

- ANY STEP by Amy Le and Stephanie McGuigan

- Thi Kim Anh Le (Self-titled)

Jennyfer Raquel Alonzo was awarded a fully sponsored trip after taking top honours at the 2014 Raffles Graduate Show.

"Not only do we value this wonderful platform to showcase our students’ full potential, but we also encourage a cultural exchange for Chinese students wishing to study in Australia," Ng said.

Raffles students’ collections were also showcased at the Y+D Showroom, joining forces with Commerce and Institut De Mode International.
