Rebel has announced reduced trading hours will be in force from March 29, as the retailer contends with COVID-19.

The business will keep all of its 150 stores open across Australia, but all will trade from 11am-5pm Monday to Sunday.

The retailer is also suspending cash payments and will only accept cashless payments from March 29.

Further, Rebel is encouraging consumers to practice social distancing while in-store and ensure they have a 1.5 metre gap between themselves and other shoppers.

"Our commitment to the health and wellness of our customers, our community and our team is at the heart of everything we do; never more so than in these challenging times," Rebel said in a statement.

"Helping to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus is everyone’s responsibility. As such, Rebel has implemented a range of precautionary measures to help protect against its spread.

"We ask you to please be respectful and courteous to our team as they try their best to serve you through this difficult time, we're all in this together."

The business' online store will continue to operate as normal.
