A series of pop-up exhibitions will appear at a shopping complex in Victoria in a bid to bring theatre back into the Australian retail space.
Chadstone The Fashion Capital, a two-level shopping centre, has this week launched The Gallery.
The new collaboration, between Lamington Drive and The Fashion Capital, will feature a range of work from illustrators, artists and designers working in around the fashion industry.
Exhibitor and fashion illustrator Megan Hess, who said she is inspired by fashion and old-world glamour, shot to fame after illustrating the cover of Candice Bushnell’s Sex & The City.
The Melbourne Illustrator will launch her first solo exhibition for The Gallery in the luxury precinct. A new exhibitor will then be featured each month.
Hess' exhibition features her collaboration with high-profile luxury clients including Tiffany & Co., Chanel, Dior and Candace Bushnell's Sex & The City. Fans will have a chance to meet Hess when she appears in centre tomorrow from 12noon to 2pm.
The launch of The Gallery is designed to bring theatre back into the Australian retail space and follows Chadstone’s tradition of delivering world first events. Previous events staged in the luxury precinct have included the world premiere of the Mad Men costume exhibition, Icons of Style, and Simply Madonna, the first showing outside London of the material girl’s most iconic costumes.
Hess' Fashion In Ink exhibition will be on display until December 7.
