Australian online retailer Beginning Boutique has been named the Telstra QLD Business of the Year.
The award comes after it won Telstra's Small Business Award, beating four other category winners for the overall top prize in the region.
Beginning Boutique owner and director Sarah Timmerman said that determination and a strong focus on the possibilities of social media have been instrumental in the business' success.
“Small business and any business is extremely hard, and if it wasn’t so hard there would be someone else standing up here...There are smarter, faster, better financed people out there, but I just keep on going”.
Timmerman was also nominated for the 2015 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
She will now proceed to the 2015 Telstra Australian Business Awards held in Sydney on August 20th.
