Australian swimwear designers took centre stage at Miami Swim Week as part of the Fashion Palette runway show.

Australian designers VDM the Label, TJ Swim, Lil & Emm and Aqua Blu premiered as part of the show's inaugural season following on from the success of similar New York Fashion Week shows hosted by the group.

Lil & Emm designer Sheree Lily Giles said that the opportunity to show Australian swimwear brands internationally highlighted a strength of the Australian fashion industry.

“Australians do swimwear best; it's our lifestyle. The SS2019 collection is meant to bring something unique to the industry that makes every customer feel sexy just by putting on the suit.”

Fashion Palette founder Sonya Mefaddi said the group was committed to promoting Australian fashion on a global stage after success with their New York shows.

“Australia has some of the world's best swim brands and I am proud to be representing such an amazing cross-section of local talent in Miami for the first time.

“Fashion Palette Miami swim week will serve as a platform for eleveating and celebrating Australian fashion as a unique creative international platform.”
