Australian Olympian and World Tour Surfer Julian Wilson has launched his own fashion label, Rivvia Projects.

The label focuses on enabling the wearer's active lifestyle through pieces that can be worn from the surf to the street.

It is set to launch its first major retail offering in Australia, the USA, Europe and Japan in June this year, although according to a post to the brand's Instagram story last week, it might have to speed things up.

"Thanks again for backing Rivvia Projects," founder Julian Wilson said in the statement.

"It' been super crazy since we launched the idea of the brand to the world.

"One question I keep getting is about product - when and where can you guys get your hands on some.

"The honest answer is, we weren't really expecting this kind of demand straight off the bat.

"The idea of Rivvia Projects was and has always been to involve our community in the process of building the product and to deliver a range of garments that you all helped create with us.

"This is still the plan, but we also want you guys in Rivvia Projects now.

"So we're working on some fun stuff behind the scenes and fast-tracking some early protypes so we can ger this thing out into the world," Wilson said in the statement.

Wilson added that the brand is working to have product available "ASAP" through the webstore, with those signed up to emailing list the first to know when it drops.

Speaking on the launch of the label, Wilson said Rivvia Projects has been in the works for many years.

"This year has been a big one for me personally.

"I’ve made some major decisions surrounding my career and my family.

"These decisions have allowed me to take on new projects I never thought possible. Dreams I’ve always wanted to make a reality.

"What you’re seeing is a concept that is years in the making. An idea I needed to explore. An itch I needed to scratch.

"Rivvia Projects is a brand I’m launching today, with the goal that it will hopefully motivate your tomorrow.

"Consider it your permission to play, your licence to get out there and have fun," he said.
