You have never seen latte art like this before.

Melboune-based artist Beci Orpin has teamed up with coffee company Lavazza ahead of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) to create a unique artwork that will be displayed on a giant cup during the event.

Guests will watch Orpin paint the artwork live on the festival's opening night on March 14th.

Takeaway cups sold at the event will also emulate her design.

The unlikely collaboration runs alongside the 120th anniversary celebration of Lavazza, who will officially launch their new coffee machine 'Fantasia A Modo Mio' at the festival.

Lavazza general manager Trent Knox believes it's an opportunistic moment to reinvigorate its identity.

“The spontaneity of painting the giant cup live at the festival’s opening night allows us to share the experience and discovery with our customers. I can’t wait to see Beci’s interpretation of the Lavazza brand.”

Orpin is also thrilled by the collaboration.

“As a long time fan of coffee, I have always been an admirer of Lavazza's history and dedication to their product. I am excited to be working with Lavazza at VAMFF and looking forward to what we can create together.”

Orpin has worked with a number of local and international brands and is best known for her vibrant work using unique textiles such as paper and wood.

The artwork will come to life at Central Pier, Docklands from 6pm onwards.
