2020 Australian Fashion Laureate winner A.BCH has re-launched its customisation service, to encourage customers to purchase made to measure garments.

The service relaunches as part of A.BCH's 'Life' campaign which educates customers on how to carefully select clothing to build a more sustainable wardrobe with a longer lifespan.

A.BCH founder Courtney Holm said the customisation service has generated a pool of repeat customers for the brand.

"We first launched our customisation service because we believe that if people buy garments that are made especially to fit them, they are more likely to cherish them and wear them over and over again.

"That’s the best kind of sustainable fashion, so it’s no surprise that our customisation service has a cult following with select repeat customers.

"We find that a lot of people think that customisations are overly expensive, need to be elaborate, take too long to make or must be done in person.

"We’re here to debunk all of those myths.

"We’re making them accessible from a price-point and turnaround time perspective, but also, like our entire range, the garments are ethically produced by our team in Melbourne," she said.

To purchase a customised garment, customers select size 'C' on most products on the website and complete the checkout process as normal.

The A.BCH team then contact the customer to determine the customisation and a Zoom fitting session is offered.

Once customisation is confirmed, the garment takes approximately two weeks to be created.

As part of the 'Life' campaign, A.BCH will release a selection of new garments to its evergreen collection — including unisex organic navy linen shorts and pants.

'Life' is the second season in A.BCH’s three year-round ‘seasons’ that also includes 'Birth' and 'Afterlife', designed to reflect the lifecycle of garments.

The three seasons aim to show people how to buy, wear and discard clothing in a sustainable way.
