Those in the fashion business love nothing more than a good knees-up and a chance to get out and about. below Ragtrader produces the photographic evidence.

Fresh start
Online retailer Kath Purkis welcomed the new year by treating her customers to a Sunday afternoon at Sydney hotspot Ivy Pool. Purkis was celebrating her latest e-offering noirshop.com, a fast fashion store pitched as “Australia’s answer to Topshop”. Guests kicked back on deck chairs, cabanas and poolside lounges as a bevy of models strutted down the runway in key spring/summer 2010 looks. Purkis is pictured here in a white, strapless mini dress.

Festive spirit
With its first retail store opening just in time for the festive season, Cooper St Clothing had that much more to celebrate at its Christmas bash last month. Staged at the luxurious Ivy Penthouse in Sydney, staff and clients of the womenswear label were treated to a fabulous evening on the boss (pictured on the far right is owner Craig Cooper). FashionWork recruiting founder Yvonne Pembroke (centre) and Jemma Ly (far left) share a laugh and a tipple with Cooper.
