NATIONAL: Italian footwear brand Superga will utilise its celebrity endorsement marketing strategy when it launches in Australia and New Zealand in November.
Superga Australia spokesperson Daniel Goldberg said the decision to expand into the Australian market was driven by the success the brand has enjoyed in Europe and North America in recent years.
Goldberg revealed the brand has enjoyed a surge of popularity on the back of its aggressive marketing strategy that utilises celebrity endorsements from the likes of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Music group the Jonas Brothers are on the cusp of signing on as brand ambassadors.
The details of the brand's Australian launch are still being finalised but Goldberg confirmed it would remain celebrity focussed, with plans in place to donate product to presenters at the Inside Film awards to be held in Sydney in November.
Goldberg said Superga will be stocked in key chain retailers.
The debut collection will feature six different styles, including the brand's cotton canvas and leather classics. The collection will cater to men, women and children and will include a range of plain and dip dyed colours.
Superga manufactures in Vietnam and will retail from around $89.95.
