NATIONAL: Trend forecasting service Mudpie has released its trend predictions for spring/summer 2011.
The UK based fashion and textile research company identified three key themes which will influence fashion design, which it has termed enlighten, sobriety and fable.
It reported that the enlighten theme is influenced by India and its vibrant culture. It will see traditional styles blend with a contemporary vision.
Sorbiety will see the pre-recession material excesses diminish in favour of simplicity. Authenticity, timelessness and ethics will be dominant in design.
The fable theme will see a return to innocence, with romance and fantasy key influences. Nature and technology will fuse together to create unique new styles.
Mudpie create trendbooks, which cover garments, graphics and accessories for men, women and children.
