NATIONAL: It's business as usual for swiwmear giant Seafolly, which is preparing to release a limited edition collection in the wake of a high-profile legal spat.
As first reported in Ragtrader magazine, the brand's collaborative line with supermodel Megan Gale has hit a legal speed hump. Swimwear label Issla is formally opposing the launch of Isola by Megan Gale in July, arguing the trademark is too similar to its own trading name.
The story has now hit major newspapers across Sydney and Melbourne.
This will not halt the release of Seafolly Limited Edition in the same month however. The exclusive spring/summer 2010/11 collection is comprised of 12 pieces; including one-piece swimsuits, silk shift dresses and asymmetrical, bandeau and halter-neck bikinis.
Key prints include peacock feathers and butterflies, while detailing such as ruffles, frills, cut-out designs, scalloped edges and butterfly ring trims have also been incorporated into the range.
The collection will be available at Seafolly concept stores and independent boutiques from July.
