Thompson techs up
SYDNEY: Rebecca Thompson is now offering her frill-filled collections online. The womenswear designer has chosen several pieces from her spring/summer 2009 collection ‘Vamos Arabella’ to retail on www.rebeccathompson.com.au/shop. Spanish-inspired garments in contrasting textures of folk embroidery, lace, crochet and broderie anglais start from $205, with free shipping available on all purchases. Thompson supplies to independent boutiques across Australia and counts Halle Berry, Sienna Miller and Toni Collette among her celebrity clients.

NATIONAL: Online consumer magazine www.stylehunter.com has continued to gain fresh ground since its recent revamp. The service allows consumers to browse seasonal lookbooks from leading Australian fashion retailers, with 55,000 visitors recorded each month for August and September, 2009. Myer, Sportsgirl, Billabong and Barkins have all enlisted to receive detailed reader data from Stylehunter, such as the length of time consumers are spending on their lookbooks as well as information on which products are proving most popular to browse. The website switched from a monthly to a quarterly title this year and provides a weekly newsletter to subscribers.

Oroton gets exclusive
SYDNEY: Upmarket accessory brand Oroton is pushing a new point of difference with its online retail arm, running exclusive campaigns for shoppers who take to the web. The Sydney-headquartered brand, which operates 40 stores across Australia and also supplies department store David Jones, launched an exclusive online sale through its website last week by offering e-shoppers 25 per cent off selected sunglasses.

Noni B embracing email
NATIONAL: Womenswear retailer Noni B is building an email database to stay in touch with its million loyalty program members. Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting on October 28, joint managing director James Kindl said that while the email database was still in the works, Noni B’s recently revamped website was “exceeding industry benchmarks” in terms of the number and duration of visits. The website was launched 12 months ago.
