NATIONAL: Department store Myer has appointed a finance and accounting specialist to its board.
Anne Brennan will assume the role of non-executive director, effective immediately. Brennan is currently finance director at Coates Group and has worked as chief financial director for CSR and partner at professional services firms KPMG, Ernst & Young and Arthur Anderson.
Myer chairman Howard McDonald said Brennan's skills were well balanced with the retail expertise of the board.
"She brings an enormous amount of knowledge and experience in the financial management of both private and publicly owned companies, as well as expertise in business strategy, information technology, procurement and the law."
