MELBOURNE: Australian designer and stylist Michael Angel is the first confirmed speaker for the Designer Forum at the L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF).
The Designer Forum is a key business event at the festival, held in Melbourne from March 14 to 21. The seminar gathers industry experts to provide advice to designers. It is an interactive session, where guests are welcome to ask questions of the panelists. Further speakers are expected to be announced shortly.
Michael Angel runs his own fashion line for women, Michael Angel Collection. He has also worked as a stylist for Australian and international fashion publications and fashion week catwalks.
LMFF has also announced that UK based director of online sales portal mywardrobe.com Sarah Curran will speak at the LMFF Business Seminar. Hosted by fashion commentator David Meagher, the business seminar will also feature recently retired chairman and chief executive of Hermès Sellier Christian Blanckaert. Blanckaert will discuss the current state of luxury retail and what other fashion sectors can learn from luxury players.
Designers and labels listed to show on the catwalk at LMFF include Yeojin Bae, Life With Bird, Alpha 60, Ellery, Tina Kalivas, Gary Bigeni, Nicola Finetti, Thurley, Gwendolynne and Aurelio Costarella among others.
