BRISBANE: Queensland activewear brand Lorna Jane is seeking to re-energise its neglected wholesale distribution network.

Of late the multi-million dollar business, foundered by a former aerobics instructor nearly 20 years ago, has been focused on opening new retail stores but said it would now turn its attention to expanding its wholesale distribution arm.

Company spokesman Haydn Baldwin said the move had come about owing to increasing demand for the Lorna Jane product, across its dancewear, jogawear, sleepwear and Little Miss Lorna ranges.

Baldwin said the company finished the 2008/09 financial year 110 per cent up on FY2007/08 with like-for-like stores boasting a 50 per cent increase in revenue.

"The store openings continue at an accelerated rate but the demand for product exceeds the network expansion which can only be met with a quality wholesale program run nationally and overseas," he said.

The business operates a total of 56 stores across Australia as well as others in Dubai, Singapore, Thailand and New Zealand.
