NATIONAL: This year's Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) will be the last for the event's founder, Simon Lock.
RAFW organisers IMG Fashion announced Lock will not renew his contract with the company once his current term comes to an end in late 2010. Lock's departure from his role as managing director of IMG Fashion Asia Pacific will not affect IMG Fashion's team structure in the region, the company said.
IMG Fashion's senior vice president and global managing director Peter Levy acknowledged Lock's history with the company.
“He has, together with our team in Australia and around the world, made an imprint on our group and on the successful events we have produced in the region over the past few years,” said Levy.
Lock said he was looking forward to celebrating RAFW's fifteenth anniversary in May 2010.
“I am extremely proud of what RAFW has been able to achieve for the Australian fashion industry over the past fifteen years. It is a testament to an amazing group of people who have dedicated, in some instances, much of their careers to this important endeavour.”
RAFW was founded by Lock in 1996 and acquired by IMG Fashion in 2005.
