Despite reports claiming an announcement of the purchase was imminent, the Australian textile and apparel manufacturing group's managing director Andrew Mills said negotiations were still underway.
He confirmed with ragtrader.com.au that he was very interested in the purchase and hoped Charles Parsons was a frontrunner to take it on. He expected an answer from receivers within two weeks.
Line 7 went into receivership in New Zealand on June 29 after a failed restructure saw it collapse under $8 million of secured debt. Its Australian arm was wound up just four days later.
